Botanical Gardens

NORFOLK BOTANICAL GARDENS
What a beautiful spacious place to visit. If some of our friends hadn't invited us to to the gardens I don't know if we would have gone. There are acres of so many different kinds of plants, trees, shrubs, and flowers. You also can see fountains, statues, ride the tram, and figure out the mazes. It was wonderful.
This butterfly "case" was keeping all of the chrysallis safe. We actually saw a butterfly spread it's wings and come out for the first time. Even the caretakers said they've never seen it actually happen. Wonderful experience.
This water area was fantastic. The kids loved finding all of the different alcoves with more fountains. Perfect summer day.

This turtle pond has atleast 100 turtles in it. Just standing on the banks about ten came swimming over to us.

The butterfly house was full of butterflies, but the best part was seeing all of the different stages of the butterfly. There were catterpillars, eggs, and chrysallis'. It was great to show the kids each of these instead of just talking about it in a book.
